Tanagra figurine holding a fan.
Terracotta female figurine wearing a chiton and a himation covering the head and holding a fan in her hand.
They represent noble women who corresponded to the ideal of beauty and the fashion of that time.
Hellenistic period
These figurines were first found in the Boeotian town of Tanagra although they probably originated in Athens c. 330 BC.
