This exquisite red-figure pelike is a faithful reproduction of the ancient Greek original housed at the Villa Giulia in Rome.
(5th century BC),
the vase vividly depicts the mythological scene of Boreas, the North Wind, abducting Oreithyia, daughter of King Erechtheus of Athens.
On the reverse side, three elegantly draped figures convey the tragic news to Erechtheus, capturing a moment of both drama and serenity. This pelike combines fine craftsmanship with rich storytelling, making it a perfect addition to any collection of classical art.
