Corinthian Aryballos with Winged Figure and Rooster - Handcrafted Archaic Greek Vase
A beautiful spherical oil flask inspired by the historic Corinthian aryballoi of the early 6th century BC, which were traditionally used to hold scented oils, perfumes, and balms.
Depicts a mythical winged, bearded male figure (often interpreted as a Boread, son of the wind god) in the characteristic Archaic running-kneeling posture, symbolizing intense motion, accompanied by a rooster.
Features a magnificent, stylized rooster with rich incisions and an elegant lotus palmette design.
The background is meticulously filled with traditional Corinthian rosettes, capturing the authentic ancient "horror vacui" aesthetic (fear of empty spaces).
Hand-painted and aged in our workshop, this piece perfectly mirrors the contrast of terracotta, black slip, and fine incisions.
